Absolva - new band by Chris Appleton & Martin McNee of Fury UK

Official message from Chris Appleton & Martin McNee:
"Hi everyone,
we're just a few days away from finishing the Fury UK "Death By Lightning" Tour - at Kendal on Thursday, Ebbw Vale on Friday & Stoke on Saturday - www.furyuk.com.

As you most probably know, this brings a close to a chapter in the Fury UK history as our metal brother Luke joins Iced Earth in June & Fury UK goes on-hold until the 3 of us are available together again. Not the end but it's going to be a good while.

Martin & myself are excited to be able to introduce our new band & main focus now - Absolva (www.absolva.com). As you can see we've been busy. The new band is a 4 piece with Tom Atkinson (from Manchester metal band Vice) on 2nd lead guitar & Dan Bate (from Midlands-based Point Blank Fury) on bass. Absolva will be playing a few Fury UK songs that you will of course know but we've already been working on new material for an album release in October. The sound will be similar to Fury UK but the big difference we're looking forward to is the twin lead guitar which will bring to mind Iron Maiden & Thin Lizzy, but also another metal giant in Judas Priest.

The first show for Absolva is going to be 22nd July at SOS Festival at Radcliffe Civic, North Manchester when we play a special guest slot.

We're also very excited to announce 3 August dates as special guests with Iced Earth in Dublin, Belfast & Glasgow.

We've already started booking a UK & European Tour from October-December to promote the album.

A massive thank you from Fury UK & the new Absolva. Your support has been amazing & we look forward to seeing you out there, for our 3 current remaining Fury UK shows, then the debut shows for Absolva.

Please check out the new website www.absolva.com for more details, tickets for the upcoming Absolva shows, photos etc".

Chris Appleton has this to say about today's announcement: "We're happy & relieved to have settled the line-up so quickly. Tom Atkinson was a natural choice & already known to me as a talented lead guitarist. For the job of bassman we held auditions & Dan Bate proved to be the outstanding choice with the right skills but also a great attitude. Fury UK isn't dead but goes on long-term hold & for me now, Absolva is the main focus. It rattled our world when we heard that Iced Earth wanted Luke but we knew how we wanted to handle things & Absolva is exactly that".

Early rehearsals have made it clear that Absolva has something very special & is exceptionally placed to become the 21st century band of choice for those fans that have passionately followed the British metal giants such as Maiden & Priest.

A full length album entitled "Flames Of Justice" is planned for release in October 2012 on Rocksector Records.
