LA-based dark-electro pop duo LUCKYandLOVE return with their trademark analogue synthesizers to create a fine collection of danceable, dreamy and melancholic songs on their second album “Transitions”, self-released with support globally from Southern Record Distributors and Forced Exposure.

Generally very “futuristic” synth sound like 80s synthpop (Human League, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Visage), danceable and dystopian with cold sounding synthesizers along with soulful female vocals. Femme Fatal lyrics and vocals delivery accompanied by atmospheric elements. The duo uses minimal musical elements and the final outcome is not overproduced in any way.

Overall, “Transitions” stands strong next to their contemporaries and showcases progression from their self-titled effort regarding production and songwriting. Loren Luck and April Love creatively complement each other with their combination of electronic sounds and alluring vocals with soul, which some acts in their genre fail to capture well. Fans of Ladytron, Metric and Phantogram should definitely give this album a listen.
