British rock legends Saxon are happy to announce they will be playing 3 exclusive club dates in the UK and 3 in the EU this winter in addition to the upcoming November/December dates with MOTORHEAD. The tour, unofficially known as "Bombers & Eagles Fly Again" will see the two iconic bands hitting the road together to perform in Europe and six major UK music venues in November 2013.
Seminal NWOBHM outfit Saxon will head alone to Northampton, Preston & Buckley in the UK to revisit venues they last played back in the late 1970's & 80's. These shows will see the band perform tracks from their latest album "Sacrifice" next to a selection of classics. A tribute to the bands loyal fan base, Saxon's return to their roots promises to be a special treat not to be missed. These shows will also be filmed, with selected footage being used for an upcoming documentary that will also include film from the July Holmfirth & Steelhouse Festival gigs.
The EU dates will take Saxon to Luxembourg (10 Nov), Leeuwarden in Holland (4 Dec) and Malmo, Sweden (7 Dec).
"We're looking forward to being out with our mates Motorhead again - it's always great for the fans when the two bands get together" says Biff Byford. A fundamental part of the history of British Metal, with 15 million records sold worldwide, Saxon are billed as very special guests on the Motorhead tour, with German rockers Slew Siskin providing support. This heavyweight package is sure to be a hit with fans and tickets are going fast!
