If you took Green Day and added Rammstein’s singer, singing in German for them, about partying and drinking beer, you’d probably come up with Turbobier, Austria’s campy, “Amadeus Music Award w(e)inners” from Vienna – see I too can misspell in silly high school ways under the pretense of joking… “Irokesentango” (Iroquoi Tango), being their debut – very funny…
“Das Neue Festament” (the new Feastament) is the title for their sophomore, with titles such as “Die heilige Bierbel” (the holy beerble)… yeah… despite the simple forms and kindergarten melodies done a bit more punk, this is a snoozefest that might only appeal to sock & sandle wearing GAS tourists and people with a severe liver dysfunction.
The late Falco, who was actually a pretty talented dude, gets some stiff competition for the most campy artist to come out of Austria by this band’s singer Marco Pogo, who ultimately loses when compared with the iconoclast idol of the 80s, but only by an inch…
