The Sticky Fingers Ltd. come from Italy. They started their career under the name Sticky Fingers back in 1996, when they were a power-trio. After a while they took a long hiatus till 2013 when they re-formed under the name The Sticky Fingers Ltd. From the old line-up the guitarist & vocalist Lorenzo is still in charge, the drummer Flash, who joined the band in 1999 is still on board and there also the newcomers Jaypee on bass and Inch on guitar. So after almost 18 years in the scene the time finally came for The Sticky Fingers Ltd. to release their debut album.

I think it’s easy to get their music style judging by the band’s name. The debut is full of 70s classic rock, southern rock, blues-rock, hard rock & rock & roll tracks. Following both the UK and the US rock scene, these Italians sound (typically) like they come from the other side of the Atlantic. The guys know how to rock, they have fine ideas, the tracks are groovy and they honor the classic (hard) rock roots reverentially. The production is very good, a tad sharp and fresh… yeah not 70s wannabe! That’s a big plus because today every rock band wants to have that analog vintage sound of the 70s. I’m glad that The Sticky Fingers Ltd. overcame that obstacle.

On the self-titled debut there are tracks which rock more, others that have a more blues-rock & southern influence and the rock & roll ones. The track which closes the album is an acoustic somewhat psychedelic piece where along with Lorenzo we hear Laura Mocali on vocals too. The ebow-guitars are played by Lf. I think that this is a bloody fine debut album… and if the band settles down on their style and filter all of their influences under their own perspective, they can do even better…
