Sonic Station - Sonic Station

Sonic Station is the brainchild of the Swedish guitarist, composer and producer Alexander Kronbrink. More of a personal project where Alexander composes, plays and produces music… Sonic Station’s debut album is mostly influenced by AOR/Westcoast music and acts like: Toto, Work of Art, Toto, Over the Edge, Mr. Mister, Airplay, Journey, Chicago, On The Rise and so on. The music is more laid back… with lots of popish 80s references from song to song. There are four singers, Marika Willstedt, Kristoffer Fogelmark, Magnus Bäcklund and Tove Lo, participating in the album and a bunch of session musicians as well. Marika is an old-time friend of Alex and she gave him a helping hand by playing the keys and writing some song lyrics except for singing along.

Alexander Kronbrink is responsible for the production here… and I must admit that he has done a great work here… giving a smooth… pop & clear tone to the whole album. Time is passing rather smoothly while listening to tunes such as: “I Wish I Could Lie”, “Hold On To Me”, “The Most Beautiful Fear”, “Running through the Night” & “Reasons”. If you like the popish, smother side of AOR/Westcoast music… then you will find some nice songs here…
