Do not mistake it with the latest Steel Panther album, which goes under the same title. I do think that Slivovitz means another thing with “All You Can Eat” and not what Steel Panther means. This was my first thought when I saw that album title. Even though those bands belong to a totally different music genre… I personally do not consider it a good idea to use a title that has been firstly used by Steel Panther for various reasons.

Anyhow, Slivovitz are back with a new album after a 4-year hiatus. This Italian sextet blends jazz-rock, ethic, prog rock & jazz-fusion altogether and present an orgy of experimental technical progy jazz-rock amalgam. The use of sax, violin, trumpet and harmonica offer a different musical variety to the album, something that will be appreciated by the new followers and will be applauded by the old fans once again. Certainly, this ain’t an easy album to comprehend. Consider the idea of not getting near it at all, if you have nothing to do with the above-mentioned genres.

The album was produced by the band and Fabrizio Piccolo. It was also recorded, mixed and mastered by Fabrizio. The production is smooth, clear and full. The song arrangements are quite complex and showcase the high music level of the band members. I personally prefer more the calmer tracks like “Yahtzee” but that doesn’t mean that the more intense ones are not tasteful too. If you are into contemporary instrumental jazz-rock music with progressive & ethnic tendencies/elements, then give it a try…
