Back after 6 whole years with a new album! How can humanity stand this? It’s to wonder that their fans haven’t committed suicide in the meanwhile! This ain’t a simple “comeback” but the comeback of the century… or shall I say the comeback of the millennium? This is also the band’s first album without their bassist Paul Gray who passed away and the drummer Joey Jordison who left the band in 2013. The album’s title is a reference to the late bassist.

So what do Slipknot have to offer in the 10s? The right questions should have been what they offered in the mid-90s and the 00s…, but honestly I cannot answer that! Probably,  I’m just too small to get the greatness of their music… or they are so far ahead that humanity will understand their music genius after one hundred years or more!

The bad thing is that the teenagers who supported that non-harmonic, alternative, nu-metal, modern, extreme thing are not kids anymore; most of them have moved forward and don’t deal with that kind of music anymore. The new generation didn’t have the chance to get enough of them, so there has to be an issue with their loyal fan base… and if the album doesn’t sell satisfactorily then many questions and arguments will occur!

It’s true that the new Slipknot sounds like Stone Sour at places. They probably have mixed things up a bit… or they just transfuse the one’s music brilliance to the other’s… or something like that!

Finally, can “.5: The Gray Chapter” stir up the mazes again? Can it win the hearts of the new generation? Will it be as pathetic as it sounds? And what about the songwriting? Is this what we call “a penny for your songwriting”?!! Can one be angry & pissed off with society and the system – which has made him rich – even in his 40+?!! Ahh and something else just before the end… how gay can a skeleton be in a band’s cover?! Mercy on us…
