The thing that Rival Sons have and it’s going on, is “organic growth”… they weren’t planted by some head honcho of a multinational to be the new “AC/DC”, the new “Metallica”, the new “whatever”… they seemingly had a couple of albums that struck a nerve with music fans and they kept on touring them, until the “public” and the press started taking notice…

Their style is some quite original heavy rock, inspired largely by bands like Free, Deep Purple, maybe a bit by The Doors and Zepellin as well as many others no doubt… but what sets them apart is that they can pen a song and write a neato-riff… stuff like the two part “Hollow Bones”, the mercurial “Tied Up”, as well as the mystical and riffy “Thundering Voices” (which echoes of “Ceremony” era Cult – gone a bit more folk/experimental) are a testament to that.

One of the rare cases where all the hype is “justified”. Finely written and performed heavy rock. What more to ask for?!
