These Dutch metalers have been around for more than 33 years… playing heavy metal music. In 2009, they released “Old Dogs New Tricks” after almost 22 years… and now 3 years later they are releasing a new work as well.
Having two new guitarists on board, Peter Bourbon & Mike Ferguson… they are still true to their roots, delivering traditional 80s heavy metal music… with nice riffs, heavy rhythm section and raspy vocals. The production is quite powerful and it also has an 80s vibe. Do not expect any modernization or new elements here… just pure 80s heavy metal music. Fairly, “Warhorse” does not contain any big heavy metal anthems that will keep you in the game… and it becomes quite retro after a couple of listens. They do what they wanna do and that’s OK with me… surely, some 80s heavy metal lovers will find it interesting. Not to forget the awesome metal artwork… which reminded me of Saxon’s “Crusader” a bit.
