Superjoint Ritual became simply Superjoint for legal reasons and life goes on. They are back after 13 whole years and I think they could have done a big favor to themselves and never return, but unfortunately they did! Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) is not as he used to be and his great days have long gone.

Superjoint today consists (apart from Phil) of founding member & guitarist Jimmy Bower, guitarist Kevin Bond (Christ Inversion, Artimus Pyledriver), drummer José Manuel Gonzalez (Warbeast, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) & bassist Stephen Taylor (Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Woven Hand). The album was produced by Anselmo and Stephen Berrigan, and it was mastered by Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer, etc.) at Visceral Sounds. The production is kinda “noisy”, heavy & “messy”.

Musically, that hardcore punk shit which is blended with the noisy sludge metal with the thrashcore elements is utterly boring, monotonous, uninspired & insipid. One must suffer from strange medical issues so as to listen to this shit in its entirety without frantically trying to “escape it” by simply pushing the “stop” button. I feel kinda shit for the 38 minutes that I lost over this wanna-be-called music album, but sometimes music life is kinda harsh! I do hope they call it a day after this album and never bother us again with da shit…
