Pro-Pain
The Final Revolution
SPV/Steamhammer
2013
Three years after the pleasant surprise of “Absolute Power”, Pro-Pain have released yet another album. This one is called “The Final Revolution” and, it kinda goes without saying, it features the signature hardcore, groove and thrash metal Pro-Pain sound.
To be honest, the above opening paragraph is more or less all I have to say about this release. The thing about bands like Pro-Pain is that they’re a “take it or leave it”. Meaning that they are pretty much set on the kind of music closest to their heart, the kind of music which expresses them, and that’s what they play. Describing “The Final Revolution” is the same as describing Pro-Pain. The album is a raw and powerful head-on attack, packed with hard guitar riffs, a tight rhythm section and harsh vocals talking about social equality and revolution. Nothing more and nothing less. In other words, it’s pretty much what Pro-Pain are good at, what they’re known for and what they’ve been doing all those years.
If I had to pick my personal favorites from “The Final Revolution” they would have to be “Final Revolution”, “All Systems Fail”, “Emerge” and “Under the Gun”.
I really don’t know what more to say about “The Final Revolution”; it’s a clear-cut Pro-Pain album. Whether you like it or not.
