Pint Size Hero
Like a Hurricane
Independent Release
2014
Pint Size Hero is a fuzz-driven hard rock trio from Brighton, England. “Like a Hurricane” is their sophomore attempt after “Get Your Kicks” (2011).
Following the path set by Oasis, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys, but adding very little to it, Pint Size Hero managed to produce an enjoyable record which fails to impress however. You get the impression that you’ve heard it all before. I mean “Save Me” has a vague but very recognizable Arctic Monkeys vibe, “Hunger” (the album’s first single) has a main theme that is almost a complete rip-off of “Burn the Witch” by Queens Of The Stone Age, “Burn Away” could very easily have been written by Noel Gallagher and the beginning of “In You” is extremely close to White Stripe’s “Blue Orchid”.
“Like a Hurricane”, fine as it may be, can only serve as a substitute for all the pre-mentioned bands and artists at the end of the day, bringing nothing new to the table.
