Fright Night is a Russian band which was formed in late 2005. In 2010 they released their debut album “The Play of Pain”. Now, almost 4 year later, after several line-up changes they release their sophomore album entitled “Life Eternal”.
Musically Fright Night are into gothic rock/metal music with lots of atmospheric elements and a few symphonic ones. The female vocals are fine and the male ones are also giving a more “gothic feeling” to the tracks. Unluckily, Fright Night lack quite a bit on the songwriting part. Some nice ideas here and there are not enough to make the whole outcome compelling. They need to put down their influences and try to make more solid tracks overall. It’s like their music themes are not so well-joined together. The singers’ English accent is not that good too… and those programmed drums are somewhat annoying in the end. The production is OK but it does need to be updated cuz’ it’s a tad weak at places. The voices and the guitars are above all.
Since it’s a time when album releases are all the more from any part of the world, as I’ve said several times in the past, any band must work harder and be focused on what they want to attain… recordings and digital or not releases are easy to achieve but music quality is what counts the most in the end…
