Well that time of year is already here! Hooray!!! It’s the end of 2016 and we are standing at the door of 2017! Apart from the Season’s Greetings, I must say that 2016 was a good music year on the whole. No, I am not going to do a retrospection of 2016, but be sure to check the lists with the Best 25 Albums as well as the Top Songs of 2016.I’d like to say a few things about the annual Grammy Awards & Nominations. Beyoncé is nominated for the “Best Rock Performance” – Megadeth for “Best Metal Performance” along with Korn – Metallica for the “Best Rock Song” category along with Radiohead, Twenty One Pilots and Highly Suspect – for the “Best Rock Album” category the nominees are: Blink 182, Gojira, Cage The Elephant, Panic! At The Disco & Weezer – for the “Best Alternative Music Album” the nominees are: David Bowie, PJ Harvey, Iggy Pop, Radiohead & Bon Iver… and this is just a little taste of what this year’s nominations are like. It is to wonder who makes these choices; The Recording Music Academy has been trolling us big time for many years now! Do they have anything to do with music at all?!! Can they tell the difference between a metal & rock track? Does Beyoncé’s kitsch performance have anything to do with “rock”?!! How “metal” are Korn?!! Is “Hardwired” a rock song?!! Is “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots a “rock” song?!! Have Cage The Elephant, Panic! At The Disco & Weezer released “rock” albums? And Gojira falls in the same category with the aforementioned acts?!! Is this a bad joke?! Are the guys from The Recording Music Academy totally irrelevant with music or “money talks” and “bullshit walks”?!! Really who thinks the Grammy awards are some kind of serious shit?!! Com’ on, don’t get me started!!! I’ll say no more, cuz this kind of shit bores me to death…
I just wanted to point out the paranoia of the music business these days… I kinda think that’s more comical & inaner than before… or it was always like that and none would give a damn – as they do now, apart from those who must do so for the “money”. Nonetheless, they made us giggle with their irrationalities and their musical taste that sucks big time!
