There are times that you come across a band and you’ve got a feeling that you’re about to listen to something good, something that you didn’t expect at all. All these years while dealing with Grande Rock and music in general, I never stopped looking out for newcomers that actually have potential. And believe me there are many bands out there that are capable of doing something out of the ordinary but they never make it for various reasons in the end. That doesn’t mean that they couldn’t make it or they didn’t try. Fate & luck always play a part on someone’s course. On the other hand, there are bands that can’t even compose damn songs and yet have fame & fortune. After all, success, for most of the people that are not so much into music, is to sell millions of albums. If you do so then you’re godlike… but if you don’t… ha… then you’re at best nice but not quite gifted. Talent equals to money bringing. That’s the damn truth.If I were to define myself, I would be called a music junkie for I cannot help but search out for new and old music all the time… not matter the kind of music at all… just to be tasteful and significant. Grande Rock was, is & will always be a place where the indie bands will be presented and supported. After all, 95% of the webzines out there are all promoting and advertising the same bands and labels all the time. Where’s the fun in that? Ohh, yeap I’ve got it… it’s all about the money… so no money, no fun huh?!! Get outta here!
The response for something totally independent that we are working on has been overwhelming till now by both the bands/artists & the labels. Be sure that when the whole thing is up & running lots of you will be nicely surprised. A lot of people will find a place to listen to their beloved music away from “weird interests” and paid-driven benefits. Some call Grande Rock “the Home of independent music”… hence, we’re here to give ‘em another reason to do so! We primarily respect all these indie bands/artist & labels that are trying to offer good music to the fans even if they face several difficulties on doing that. I do not think that any major labels need more advertisement than the one they already have. Let’s be frank.
PS1: The time to vote for the Best of the Year is coming so get properly prepared. It’s true that quite a few great albums have been released in the last weeks and we’re expecting more to come. It will be tough to choose in the end. Do not forget that those who will vote for the Best of 2012, also have a chance to win 3 special gifts after we hold a draw!
PS2: Something truly good is on the way… As I said before the overwhelming response we’ve got, will make things happen sooner than we thought.
PS3: Love.Might.Kill took us away with their exceptional hard & heavy music. I think that “2 Big 2 Fail” deserves to be the Best Album of October. So did the young Vaudeville that amazed me with their sophomore release. These guys have a bright future ahead of them!
PS4: We recently started cooperating with some local Live Event Organizers so there will also be some Live Reports from the various live shows that take place in Athens and not only.
