Paradise Lost - Obsidian

The title of the new Paradise Lost album had me for some inexplicable reason, hoping that at long last, the Halifax men of despair would be able to come up with a proper follow up to their early 90s material, which almost made them household names back in the day. I don’t know what caused that belief to take root, maybe the cool name, I just had a hope and a bit of a hunch.

Alcest unveil studio documentary “La lumière autant que l’ombre”

Today, Alcest release their 6th studio album and Nuclear Blast debut “Spiritual Instinct” upon the world. To celebrate, the band has unveiled a studio documentary titled “La lumière autant que l’ombre”, accompanied with the acoustic instrumental version of their new track “Protection”, which was recorded by Neige and can also be found exclusively as a bonus track on select versions of the album. Alcest to release new studio album “Spiritual Instinct” on October 25th 2019

On October 25th, Alcest will once again open the gateways to the otherworldly and release their sixth studio album titled “Spiritual Instinct”.

Recorded at the French Drudenhaus Studios and written in bursts both during and after a prolonged period of touring in support of 2016’s hugely successful “Kodama”, the new album - the first to be released via Nuclear Blast - will lead the blackgaze pioneers into dark soundscapes full of spiritual catharsis.
 

Alcest announces new album “Spiritual Instinct” - due out in October 2019

After a long and intensive work period at Drudenhaus Studios, Alcest can finally announce that they have finished the recordings of their sixth studio album. The first long-player to appear under their new label, Nuclear Blast, is titled “Spiritual Instinct” and will see the light of day on October 25th, 2019, leading the band into darker yet still dreamy and spiritually profound soundscapes.
