Prayer are finally back with album number 2… almost 7 years after their debut “Wrong Address”. Picking up from where they left with their previous work… they stay true to their 80s AOR/melodic rock roots… with lots of Scandi AOR and hard rock elements here and there.
Rockin’ guitars along with nice keys and fine vocal melodies… more of an explicit formula of creating AOR/melodic rock that won’t dissatisfy any of the genre’s die-hard fans. The production is very good and clear… responsible for that result are the singer/songwriter Tapani Tikkanen and the keyboardist/bassist Mika Pohjola. Tapani is the mastermind of the band in general… but his voice will appeal to some of you while others won’t find it attractive enough to let them go on. He may not be a very strong vocalist… but he has the passion & the desire to perform and sing his own music… and that’s something I totally respect. Who knows… maybe with another, probably much stronger, singer this album would have sounded different… but that’s another story. To cut it short, I think that this is a decent release in general…
