Mustasch never cease to put out new releases and I also never stop reviewing them, even though I do not expect to listen to anything that will please me… there’s a weird “love/hate” thing or what?!! Whatever! I do fancy though the way they rip-off hit songs of the past and make them their own! That’s brilliant! Take a riff, some melodies etc. that are really recognizable and present them as your own song! Wow!!! That’s what I call inspiration honeys!
“Testosterone” starts OK with “Yara’s Song”, which is a fine track without being anything extraordinaire. After that the boredom begins as well. Tracks that were made by the book and they do sound like another thousand ones. The phrase “have heard it somewhere”… always spins in your head while listening to Mustasch. The production is powerful and heavy in general. The album was produced by Richard Löfgren.
I won’t waste any more of my and your previous time. If you do have some time to kill – do something else, go out fishing or watch some TV series. If you obstinately wanna listen to music then there’s a great variety of new albums to choose from. If you’re about to fall asleep, “Testosterone” (with a few slow/mid-tempo tracks it contains) will help you go to sleep sooner that you think. When tediousness, unoriginality and lack of inspiration are the basic ingredients of a “music plate”, better go to sleep…
