Lefo X is the brainchild of an eponymous persona, from Athens Greece, aided by a number of temporary session musicians in the studio. They have been active since 2007 and since 2010 they have released 9 singles and 5 EPs.
Their style is minimalist, electro gothic rock & modern rock with a definite “post” atmosphere that channels Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails maybe even “Host’s” Paradise Lost. The style is either love it or hate it, I guess with my main qualm being the fact that this sounds clearly like a low budget, “home production” and the singer’s quite accented. One should be critical when choosing to sing in English, because here the vowels are so over-pronounced that it becomes quite annoying not allowing a potential listener to immerse in the songs, atmosphere fully. Decent effort and ideas, but it needs more vocally and production wise.
