Hailing from Germany, these sleaze/glam hard rockers are releasing their debut album to the masses. They were formed back in 2008 and have done several live national and international gigs. They also released a demo in 2009 and a self-titled EP in 2010.

I do like this kind of music and I’m happy when I see young bands continue and pay tribute to the 80s big ones. All here smells 80s by miles away… the music, the song titles and the way they are dressed up. They are mostly influenced by great sleaze/glam hard rock acts of the 80s like: Motley Crue, Wrathchild, Poison, Guns & Roses, Danger Danger & Hanoi Rocks and from some bands of our age such as: Crashdiet & Loud N’ Nasty. “Excess All Areas” left me with mixed emotions. The guys have the looks… they have the attitude… they have the will… but they utterly missing the hooks. The songs are all pretty average… with no “hooks” at all… plain and generic… and they cannot excite you in any way. The production is sort of weak… and the vocals are too up front in the mix. Surely this is just a debut… but it could have been better… this is not a demo or an EP… so it shouldn’t sound like one. They need to try harder on the songwriting part… they must deliver big hooks… and they have to sound more determined… if they wanna go on.

It’s not easy to play this kind of music… as any other kind generally… and the nice 80s looks and the evocative attitude… are not making it any easier… if Hollywood Burnouts wanna separate themselves from the thousands competitors out there… they’ve got to try and work harder. I’m not trying to be harsh on the band… but they ought to pay more attention to the not so good reviews if they wanna better up.
