ForceOut
Delusion
Total Metal Records
2013
If it hadn’t been for the first song (after the intro) that’s not in English but in the band’s native language I would have been sure that this is another newcomer from Sweden. Their melodeath metal music is so inspired and influenced by acts like Children of Bodom, Dark Tranquility, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Kalmah and so forth. Of course their music is also embellished with various power metal & atmospheric elements as well.
So, who ForceOut are huh? They are a young & gifted band from Ukraine which was formed in 2008. I know the land of origin might cause any kind of doubts, but as I said earlier apart from two songs that they sing in their native languge there’s nothing else that will remind you of Ukraine. Honestly, I hope they would have all their song sin English but that has been their choice and I respect it. For instance, “Свинцеві квіти” would have been way better and more tuneful in English. Too bad cuz’ this track could have been the band’s lead single out of their country. Hey should have included two different versions of it in the album. The melodic leads, the death growls, the acoustic parts, the clean vocals & the heavy riffs are all executed in high level and shows that this band despite its young members has a great future ahead if they keep evolving more with each new work. The production is very dynamic & heavy.
We usually do not present extreme metal bands on GR, but on the one hand these guys are way too melodic with power metal passages & moreover it would be pitty not to give ‘em a chance now that they are taking their first steps in music industry. Their first step has been made and it’s decent… I’ll keep an eye on them for they do seem to have potential. The melodic death metal devotees better give “Delusion” a listen for they’ll fancy what ForceOut deliver here…
