You have to love the Dead Daisies, and not because of their illustrious membership, which often changes – yet bizarrely not that much this time with the newest “link”, being Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), in this more brotherhood, than actual band that seems to pick members that can contribute between their busy schedules and changes them as seen fit.

Apart from Doug, John Corabi (Motley Crue/The Scream) is on vocals, Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake) on bass, Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Billy Idol etc.) on drums and Australian guitarist David Lowy (Red Phoenix/Mink), who got the whole thing started, a large list of famous and semi-famous musicians have paid their dues on some stage, with the band including former and current members of Guns and Roses, Ozzy etc.

But the thing that makes the band quite special is that they don’t carry the “baggage” of their names, but rather, they leave it conveniently at the door, concentrating on crafting great songs and performing them as best they can.

“Make Some Noise” is grand because in almost all of its tracks, the DNA of Aerosmith at their best, the streetwise edge of Tesla, and that whole Rock n Roll vibe has rubbed off so much it’s become authentic in its own right (talking about tracks like “Mainline” or “Long Way to Go” and so on)… coupled with socially conscious, but at the same time not preachy, but poetic lyrics and a couple of well-timed covers of The Who’s “Join Together” and Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” it all grande fuckin rocking!

Raw, honest & rocking… I like them daisies, a lot!!! laugh
