Frankly, I never thought there could be a time I would have to deal with the Greek Hard Rock scene and actually enjoy it. I am proud of being Greek… but, seriously, I don’t generally appreciate our rock music. Yet, after listening to 4Bitten I’ve started to reconsider.

Formed in 2002 in Athens, 4Bitten are Fofi Roussos (vocals & keys), George (guitars & backing vocals), Akis “Rooster” (bass) and Angelo G (drums). Each and every one of them has had musical experience in the past and that is pretty obvious while listening to their music. Influences like Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath are apparent but helluva well-blended with their own musical experimentations. If you lick your lips at the thought of heavy rock tunes, songs like: “Burning The Candle”, “Let It All Burn”, “Live 4 Today”, “Far From Grace” (Def Leppard flavor, my personal favourite), “Through The Fire” and “Tomorrow Never Comes” will give you serendipitous surprises. 4Bitten are relatively the new kids on the block but they’ve put up a good show and this, as a fact, speaks volumes.

“Delirium” was recorded at Soundflakes studio in Athens, produced by Nick Papadopoulos and mastered at West Side studios in New York by Allan Douches (Sepultura, Mastodon, Clutch, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage etc.). Finally, I feel a strong urge to comment on the cover artwork; Seth (Septic Flesh) is responsible, his trademark is ubiquitous. Like the rest of his artistic works, I found it purely eye-catching but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? Nevertheless, hardworking bands like 4Bitten deserve our respect and support…
