The Canadian hard-rockin’ juggernaut Monster Truck, will be returning to Europe in March 2016 for the first time since November 2014 to play a series of up close and personal intimate shows for fans following the release their new album “Sittin’ Heavy”, which is out on February 19th 2016.
They will be playing at Rockpalast (Bochum), Privatclub (Berlin), Strom (Munich), Melkweg (Amsterdam), La Maroquinerie (Paris) and the 100 Club (London) for a tightly packed rock n roll riot.
In true road warrior style they have been relentlessly tearing through shows and have opened for the mighty; Guns ‘n Roses, Slash, Alice in Chains, ZZ Top, Buckcherry, Rival Sons and Vista Chino over the past 18 months.
Talking about the upcoming shows frontman/bassist Jon Harvey is bursting to come back exclaiming: “We are insanely excited to get back across the ocean! Every time has been full of lifelong memories and we expect to make some new ones in March 2016”, with guitarist Jeremy Widerman adding: “after a long year of prepping the new album for release we are overjoyed to be spending a portion of the debut in Europe and the UK which include some of our favourite cities in the world to play”.
The Juno award winning, Eric Ratz returns as their sounding board, studio guru and co-producer for the new album; with a track record that includes Billy Talent, Three Days Grace and Cancer Bats, Ratz’ studio wizardry is displayed sublimely on “Sittin’ Heavy” and must surely mark him out as a future heavyweight. The new offering is a gloriously cathartic statement that retains all of the ingredients that enabled Monster Truck to break out of the box; groove, sludge, stoner rock, grunge and vintage sounds all swirl around in a colossal melting pot that continues their evolution and expands upon ideas established from their inception.
