James Stevenson has just played at The Gathering, the annual event in North Wales hosted by Mike Peters and The Alarm. James not only played with The Alarm, he also did his first solo set in front of 2,000 people. Reports are that he went down a storm so more gigs are likely to follow.
Also in 2015 James will be back on the road as 2nd guitarist with The Cult plus he’s also likely to appear alongside Glen Matlock, Clem Burke and Gary Twinn in The International Swingers. He will also be appearing at the Isle Of Wight Festival and on a full UK tour with ‘Holy Holy’ alongside David Bowie’s Spiders From Mars drummer Woody Woodmansey, legendary producer Tony Visconti on bass and Glenn Gregory from Heaven 17 on vocals plus others. So unless you’ve got time for a very long answer, you’re always better off asking James who he hasn’t played with...
This is the second single from James’ critically acclaimed album “Everything’s Getting Closer to Being Over”. Do look out for the video for “Suzi’s Problem”, which premieres exclusively on Grande Rock - check the video below! It features renowned bass player and DJ Simone Marie Butler in an acting role as “Suzi”, Glen Matlock, Jay Aston (Gene Loves Jezebel) and Woody Woodmansey.
“His trademark white Les Paul gets a good mangling in classy opener "Suzi’s Problem" Stevenson’s vocals ain’t half bad either, and "Go Mister" sees his drawling, smokey tones entwined with female backing singers the Sex Pistilletos. He may find it hard to top this one” - Le Rock - Joe Whyte 9/10
“His album is even broader than his CV, from stately opener "Suzi’s Problem" through the picturesque rock of "Twilight Riders", the soulful "Come on People", the funky "Give It Up" to the low-growling "Naturally Wired". Stevenson plays a multitude of guitars and delivers dynamic solos on cue” - Classic Rock - Hugh Fielder
“In a nutshell, "Everything’s Getting Closer to Being Over" is spectacular, easy-listening, laid back & well-made album” - Grande-Rock.com
“All told, a remarkable career and, from the looks of this album, it ain’t over yet. Someone tell me why this isn’t being played all over the airwaves?” - www.music-news.com
