What do horror, zombies, undead, graveyards, voodoo, (headless) groupies, sex & rock & roll have in common?! Huh! The answer is simple! SupperHorrrorFuck! So easy! Dr. Freak, the vocalist, of this bizarre group… stepped out of his crypt to talk to Grande Rock… in the middle of the night, when he can actually feel somehow “alive”! Do you wanna know what’s been said? Hence read below…
How the fuck are you SHF? How are things in the graveyard?
Dr. Freak: Hell, as usual! Luckily after a short stop period we’ve started the new tour so we are back on the place where we give our best... the stage!
Give us a brief history of how you ended up in your current state and what were you no good for lifers, before that?!
Dr. Freak: The story is pretty simple, or it used to be until few years ago... We just found ourselves “alive” after a terrible car crash on October 31st 2005... Blood and fire everywhere, no memories about who we were and where we came from, just an unstoppable, wild, greedy hunger for Rock ‘n’ roll and human flesh, that leaded us to a shitty club where we discovered a punk rock band called “Morphina” was supposed to play that night... We walked towards the stage, we knew that Morphina wouldn’t never reach the club, ‘cause we were the dead bodies of those four guys resurrected. That night’s show was so horrible and disgusting that the few people who were there will never forget it... When the club’s owner asked us our name, the answer came out on its own: SUPERHORRORFUCK. The legend begun.
At the beginning we just roamed from one graveyard to another, from one club to another, driven only by our unlimited hunger, by our living dead instinct, our performances were horrible because we hadn’t the control upon our fresh-resurrected bodies, but the hellish energy we had on the stage always caught the attention of the audience, and with the time we are getting more and more able to join pretty good our filthy souls with the dead bodies... That leaded us, around 2011, to discover that we actually weren’t simple resurrected bodies, we weren’t normal zombies, ‘cause the bodies we were hunting were property of Morphina, but we aren’t Morphina! Evil super horror souls haunting dead rockin’ bodies...
By joining body and soul we improved our musical skills, but the memories of our bodies’ previous lives, that were stacked inside our brains, started to hunt us, we saw pictures of a past who didn’t belong to us and so we realized that we were just sub-leasing our dead bodies... We don’t like very much to talk about our previous lives... both of them, but I think that the day will come when we'll reveal our true identities, so... keep on following us if you are curious! (i.n.: Hey, how cool is that?!!)
“Death Becomes Us” gave us a stiffy, you stiffs. How did you do it. What motivates you to rise from the graves and spread the horror – and what are your plans and expectations from it?
Dr. Freak: As I said it hasn’t been something we chose, just something that happened... We discovered lately, many years after resurrection, the reason why our souls had been so strong to keep on hunting Desperation City’s woods waiting for a dead body to possess, but we think it's not the right time to reveal it yet...
At first when I saw your cover artwork I thought that I was looking at a post-trans, fucked-up, after-shock pic of Marilyn Manson. Then I realize that it’s a puzzle face of the band members… cool! How did you come up with something like that?
Dr. Freak: The idead (idea) of naming the album “Death Becomes Us” came from a movie that had been very important for our resurrection project: “Death Becomes Her” shows a brilliant Bruce Willis playing the part of a plastic surgeon whose career wastes, and he becomes a sort of “beautician for corpses”... He paints the customers’ dead bodies with spray and makes them looking beautiful, and that working method had been very useful to our personal undertaker to elaborate an efficient way to hide the mark of death from our faces for our everyday life... Once the album’s title was decided, we had problems with the line-up, three members left the band deciding to get back to their previous “living” lives, and then Mr.4 (bass) & I, had to hunt for fresh meat to put literally all the band pieces back together, like Dr. Frankenstein did with his creature, and from this fact the cover’s idead came easily on my head...
What are the little horror stories behind each one of the tracks?
Dr. Freak: “Dead World I Live In”: It’s a sad reflection of nowadays’ society... As George Romero’s telling to us from 1968 with the living dead saga, people who pretend to be living their lives are the real zombies, and we realized how much Romero was right only after our decease... In a paradoxical way we feel much more alive than the most of normal people, even if our hearts don’t beat...
“Down at the Graveyard”: This is a normal night out in the graveyard of Desperation City, our home, where we used to rise a stage between the graves and rock all night long with all the creatures of the night... It’s a hymn for our Rock ‘n’ Roll spirit, which brings the graveyard parties on every stage we get on...
“Death Becomes Us”: A little piece of narcissism... we still don’t know why we actually had the choice of living a second life, but we like to believe that’s because we are too hot to... die!
“Love After Death”: When people asks me how it feels to be dead, the answer is always “Cold... Death is so fuckin’ cold”... That’s why we have to hunt for warm living flesh, to warm our dead bodies... In the beginning it was a real bloodfest, eating people was the only thing in our minds with R‘n’R, then we found other pleasing ways to exploit the livings’ (girls) body heat without killing them... But there’s no way like love that can give us a kind of heat that goes beyond any physical exploitation, ‘cause it makes our hearts beating, and then we don’t even need to hunt... Yes, living dead can love, and this song is a detailed report of the effects that this feeling has on a dead body.
“Voodoo Holiday”: “Life is hard, but you don’t know... Death is even worse!”, the first sentence of this song, the first single taken from the album, explains perfectly its meaning... Being a living dead star is not so easy as it looks, we have to hide our deadly identities every day ‘cause zombie slayers are always running after us, and when we hit the road we have to be aware also of crazy groupies, and stress, you know, is bad for our dead bodies... That’s why sometimes we need a voodoo holiday!
“The Ballad of Layla Drake”: After we discovered that we were haunting strangers’ bodies each one of us had different reactions... I decided to start looking for tracks of my previous lives, both the body’s one and mine, and I dug out many interesting things... One of these was an old recording of a song called “Ballad of Layla Drake”, whose origin I can’t reveal now... As you can hear from the beginning (we kept a part of the original one in the album), the recording was wasted and incomplete, so with the other guys we decided to give a Superhorrortouch to it, and that’s what came out... Great story with a great moral!
“Threesome with the Dead”: Just a twisted example of what necrophilia can lead to... Your Porn song, nothing more to add!
“Ante-Mortem Pictures”: This song main riff was written by our previous guitarist Paghalloween... It’s a strange coincidence, ‘cause he was the first who left the band after we discovered our true nature... It’s a sort of testament/outing, the testimony of a period of great difficulty, a painful evil-ution, which leaded us to what we are now.
“Break Your Shit (feat. Vikki Violence & Dixxi from London Based Hellfire Club)”: During our “Livingdeadstars” tour in 2010/2011, we had the great pleasure of sharing the stage with a Swedish horror band called Ragdolls, who signed with our label... It was a great experience and a deep graveyard friendship was born... One of the jokes coming out from the backstage times we shared, was this sentence “I break your shit”, which means “I kick your ass”, and that’s what we both do on the stage, so when we started writing a song whose sound was a total-ignorance-kick-in-the-ass, the title came on its own, and the collaboration with Vikki and Dixxi, who now play together in London Based Hellfire Club, was a MUST... the result literally breaks your shit!
“Headless Groupie”: This song can be interpreted in two different ways: we started talking about our “chopped” groupie Slutty, the transfixed head I have on my microphone stand, who has become a real member of the band: she’s the first girl we let our instincts off with, and that’s the result, but if I own the head, where is the body? We like to think that it’s roaming from one backstage to another, killing rockstars to find her lost head, and this leads to the second meaning of the song, the metaphorical one... But this is up to you to understand!
“Horrorchy Pt. III, The Lord”: This song is very important for us, ‘cause it closes a chapter of our story that we are carrying from the (re)beginning our career: our first album’s title was “Horrorchy” and it contained the first chapter of this trilogy, a sort of explanation of our sex gore and rock ‘n’ roll religion, with prophets, priests, and, finally, a Lord. From 2008 to nowadays “Horrorchy”, “Horrorchy part II – The Prophets” and “Horrorchy part III – The Lord”, built the Bible of Superhorrorfuck, and if you think it’s just a bad copy of Metallica’s “Unforgiven” idead, try to listen to the three songs consecutively, and prepare for a Superhorrorsurprise...
“Holy Zombie (feat. Frenky & Caste from Easy Trigger – Holy Bullshit remix)”: This stupid remix of the song “Holy Zombie” (included in our second album “Livingdeadstars”) is a bonus track we decided to include in the album as proof of our friendship with Easy Trigger... I will share the stage with them as singer in the project “Easy Trigger Touring With The Freak”, and for me it’s a great pleasure ‘cause I’m a big fan of them!
How a “Headless Groupie” can be useful? She obviously can never say no to a threesome but what’s more?!
Dr. Freak: Hmm you don’t need much imagination to figure out how to use a headless body, and I’m stopping here ‘cause I don’t want to be vulgar... (laughs) But I confess I prefer to spend good times with Slutty, the head... (i.n.: Oohhh, It’s always the head!)
Have you ever toured with any other rebel rousing ghouls and if so – which ones ? Any important figures?
Dr. Freak: We shared the stage with many great bands from all over the world like Vain, Lustkillers, Hellfreaks, Buggirl, Sister, Hardcore Superstar, Wednesday 13 and many others, and we always came out proud from the rumble!
Which are/were the other “alive” or dead Rockstarz that you have in the walls of your cryptz and you worship and have sort of exhibited influence upon you then?
Dr. Freak: Each one of us has different music tastes, and this is very important to build an original sound for the band, five guys listening to the same shit would lead only to write the same shit, but luckily we are all open-minded corpses, and I hope this reflects on our music... I’m not making a list of all the bands, but if we want to talk about the common tastes, of cUrse we can’t forget all the 80s glam rock and metal, with heavy influences, and all the horror scene, from Misfits to mister Wednesday 13... But I think this is reducing...
Do you have wi-fi in the “graveyard” and if so, how has internet affected the afterlive and your musical career? What about those buttplugers that get the albums for free? Is the album a good soundtrack for hacking them to pieces?
Dr. Freak: Oh yes, we have all the comfort in our crypt, how could we watch porn without internet? Nowadays even great bands aren’t able to earn with the albums sells, downloading music from the net’s become something normal and usual, nothing to do with a crime... I think it’s useless wasting time on complaining or fightin’ against a situation that’s not gonna change at all, free stuff is always free stuff, and with the huge band-offer we have it’s impossible to buy all the albums you’d like to. We prefer to exploit the chances that internet gives, using it for advertising and to keep in touch with our fans, most of all to find new ones, because we know that once we conquer them they will come and buy our album during the show, and that’s the way things should work...
Dr. Freak: Hell, as usual! Luckily after a short stop period we’ve started the new tour so we are back on the place where we give our best... the stage!

Will you visit nearby graveyards in Italy and neighboring countries?
Dr. Freak: Our “Deadly Beautiful Tour” is actually running over Italy, we’re trying to organize something around, we’ll be in Switzerland maybe before this interview will be released, but I can’t say anything more for now, just to keep on checkin’ the tour section of our official website for all the upcoming news and gigs!
Some mondo bizarro questions now... How on earth did you come up with your brilliant name? I mean did you think about it long and hard? Or did it just hit you over the head with a hammer, caving it in?! It’s bloody brilliant I’ll have you know. Is there a deeper meaning behind it? haha! And who came up with it?!
Dr. Freak: This is something I can’t give you a clear answer about... It was something that just came out on its own after our resurrection... After the first show on Halloween 2005 I was writing random words on a table, and three of them captured my attention... SUPER... HORROR... FUCK... When the pub’s owner asked us who we were the answer was... SUPERHORRORFUCK! Maybe we were already registered in Hell’s book with that name... ‘cause it fits so damn good to us!
Favorite top 3 Horror movies of all time?
Dr. Freak: My top list: 1) Evil Dead trilogy, 2) Braindead, 3) Hellraiser…
You find yourself in the post-apocalyptic world of “The Walking Dead” … What would you choose to be? A living one running away from Zombies all the time or a Zombie that eats, slutwalks around and doesn’t give a shit?
Dr. Freak: I think there’s another option in the middle... I don’t like “The Walking Dead”, to keep my “zombie mythology” updated I prefer to follow Romero’s storyline... And, as old uncle George showed in “Day of the Dead” and “Land of the Dead”, there can be conscious zombies, and I think I would be one of them... because actually I am!
Select between…
Dr. Freak: Death SS Vs Rob Zombie?: The first, for the innovative blood they brought to our country... Some say that Superhorrorfuck may be their legitimate heirs... I hope so!
Alice Cooper VS Arthur Brown?: Two different and both gorEgeous ways to make a show... I can’t choose!
M. Manson Vs W13?: They are both great artists who have much in common with me so... once again... I can’t choose!
Misfits Vs Murderdolls?: Murderdolls, but only for their everlasting ignorance on the stage... I mean only the first line-up, of cUrse!
King Diamond VS Mercyful Fate?: King Diamond!
WASP VS Lizzy Borden?: Lizzy!
Is it actually necrophilia, if she still moves? (ie with a zombie?)
Dr. Freak: I think this is a question a medical doctor or a lawyer should answer to, I prefer breathing and speaking girls, usually I am the dead part in necrophiliac games...
Corpse Bride, Headless Groupie or Zombie Prostitute?
Dr. Freak: I’d marry the first, bring the second with me on tour and the third... it’s me! (i.n.: Hehehe…)
If your “date” sold all your valuables to buy her way out of the tomb, how would you react?
Dr. Freak: Each one has his own way to get out from the tomb... I’d find a way to be paid back... flesh, blood, a soul... everything’s OK for me…
Butchered at Birth or Eaten Back to Life?
Dr. Freak: The first one... even if I think that “The Wretched Spawn” is the best one... I’m talking about the album cover, I don’t listen to that kind of noise... The one we make is annoying enough for me!
Send your cadaverous salutations to the zombified readers of Le Grande Zombie, oh sorry I meant Rock…
Dr. Freak: You made the worms in my brain boiling with all this questions, but I’m glad to be interviewed by you, and I hope to find you under the stage one day... or in the backstage if you have cute female reporters!
