Status Quo Aquostic II - One More For The Road cover
Britain’s best-loved rockers Status Quo are delighted to confirm that on October 21st, 2016 they will release “Aquostic II - One More for the Road”, the follow up to the phenomenally successful “Aquostic (Stripped Bare)” album of 2015 which was a Gold-certified Top 5 hit in the UK and equally successful around the world, giving the band their highest chart placing for 18 years. Additionally - as announced on Chris Evans’ BBC R2 Breakfast Show - they will perform a very special one-off ‘Aquostic’ show in Hyde Park at BBC Radio 2’s ‘Festival In A Day’ on 11 September 2016.  Tickets are on-sale now here.

Guitarist Rick Parfitt is currently recuperating from a suspected heart attack and the band wish him a speedy and full recovery and look forward to welcoming him back into the fold. Recording is completed and everyone is hopeful that Rick will be fully able to play his part in this next phase of the legendary band’s career.

“Aquostic II - One More for the Road” will be released via Universal Music TV in the UK and  on earMusic in the rest of the world - and will once again feature, ahem, eye-catching photography from none other than Bryan Adams. The tracklisting for this carefully curated collection of reimagined Quo classics include “In The Army Now”, “Hold You Back”, “Roll Over Lay Down”, “Ice in the Sun” and three brand new exclusive tracks.

“Aquostic II - One More for the Road” can be pre-ordered here.

With their ‘Aquostic’ initiative, after 50 years at the top of their game as one of the world’s premiere hard rock acts, Quo have leapt out of their comfort zone. The Hyde Park show will be fully acoustic and will feature a sixteen piece band, including female backing vocalists and even a string section; a totally new Quo live experience! With the band having stated that ‘The Last Night Of The Electrics Tour’ which comes to venues across Europe from October to December 2016 will be the last ever tour featuring the thunderous Telecaster sound, it’s time to look ahead. This is the future.

Whilst the original ‘Aquostic’ set was premiered in the intimate surroundings of London’s Roundhouse, it was also toured to great acclaim across the UK in Spring 2015 and also brought the house down in front of 8,000 fans who saw the show at the Schleyerhalle arena in Stuttgart. Packed with hits, both new and old, taken from that unbelievable back catalogue and comprehensively reworked, the ‘Aquostic’ approach represents something of a new dawn for the band.

Classic Rock recently named ‘Aquostic’ as one of the top 25 acoustic albums ever saying the reworked songs, “Scratch the band’s melodic underbelly in the most celebratory way possible”, having previously said of the new approach, “It works. Brilliantly. Quo acoustic? It’s no gimmick”.

The Times said: “It’s time to… reclaim them as one of Britain’s great bands”. The Sun said simply that ‘Aquostic’, “Helps confirm their national treasure status”.

“Aquostic II - One More for the Road”, and of course the Hyde Park show, offers a generous helping of Quo classics that are immediately recognisable, and yet demonstrably re-engineered; this is the sound of a band living in the present, embracing the future, whilst cherishing their past.
