Neshiima release new music video for “Rush”

Having stormed the Boardie Takeover Stage of this year’s Download Festival, seen the release of their “Green” EP and had their name immortalised among the great performers of their local music venue The Cathouse, Glaswegian rap-metal quartet Neshiima look back on 2019 with the release of a brand new music video, unveiled ahead of the band’s final show of the year.

Drawn from their latest EP and packed with high-octane footage of their Download performance (including a cameo from Forever Never vocalist Renny Carroll), the quartet of Liam Hesslewood, Ross Cloughley, Craig Rankin and Danny Cameron’s latest video release for “Rush” displays their killer live show on perhaps the largest stage the band have played to date.

Looking back on their year as a band, vocalist and chief lyricist Liam Hesslewood reflects:
“For Neshiima, as both a unit and as individuals, this year has been a really steep learning curve. We’ve seen positive outcomes and had some insane highs, but it’s also brought "tough love lessons" on both personal and professional relationships, and how to deal with false promise and personal hardships”.

Hesslewood has explained that “Rush” was written with a focus on betrayal, with the singer having been both subject to it and guilty of it. The affect, he comments, is deep, and feelings of anger towards those that abuse our trust are entirely warranted.

“All of that being said, is "Rush" about dwelling on negativity?”, the front man continues: “No. It’s about facing up to people who are making your life difficult. Don’t give them any quarter. The whole series of EPs, from "Purple" to "Green" has about maintaining the ‘self’ at all costs - a message not just for ourselves, but for you as well”.

Following their recent EP tour and a number of live dates in November, Neshiima will soon bring this gargantuan show to The Garage Attic in Glasgow on Sunday 22nd December, as part of the Smashed It! end of year showcase from Reaction Management, with all profits going to Crisis in association with Musicians Against Homelessness.

Closing the door on one year and looking forward to the next, the band collectively echo a single, strong statement of strength...

“Don’t ever back down. We don’t plan to. 2020 - come at us, bro!”...

You can stream and purchase “Green” via Amazon, Google Play and Apple Music. You can find more information on the Smashed It! show here.

Neshiima will return in 2020!

March of 2018 saw Neshiima release the first of a series of three EPs. “Purple” was accompanied by two videos singles – “Here Forever” (featuring Renny Carroll of Forever Never) and “Believe”. “Here Forever” was released exclusively by Metal Hammer and played by Alex Baker on Kerrang! Radio in the lead up to release. Released in September of the same year, “Orange” continued the band’s efforts, with the music videos from both EPs seeing repeated plays on Kerrang! And Scuzz TV.

Neshiima took Download Festival by storm in the summer of 2019, with a hugely successful performance on The Boardie Takeover Stage that garnered a perfect 10/10 review from the festival’s own website. The band released “Green” - the final EP of the series - on September 20th, 2019.
