Finnish melodic metallers Dyecrest are set to release their new EP titled “The Stage is Set” on February 19th, 2019.
The EP’s title track will be the fourth and final single of their “Are You Not Entertained?” album, which entered the Finnish physical album chart’s top 10 at 7th place in 2018
Current and former Dyecrest vocalists are featured on the new EP “The Stage is Set” that includes familiar tracks from their latest album “Are You Not Entertained?”, as well as one previously unreleased track. The new EP features all of the three singers of Dyecrest.

The EP will contain a brand new track titled “Truce”, as well as an acoustic version of their epic power ballad “Winterblood”. Furthermore, as the artwork (created by the band’s go-to artist Sami Romppainen) of the release suggests, the stage is set also for all the previous singers of the band to join in once more to give their take on the most recent Dyecrest material. The singer of the band’s debut album “The Way of Pain” Janne Oksanen can be heard on the melodic metal anthem “First Born Angel”, and the singer of their sophomore album “This is My World”, Kimmo Blom (Leverage, Raskasta Joulua) can be heard on the heavy ballad “Where the Light was Born”.
Comments lead singer Mikael Salo: “It was great to partake in the songwriting for the first time with the guys on the track "Truce", which we worked on last Fall and came up with a loot of cool vocal arrangements inspired by bands such as Blind Guardian and Queen! Also we were asked to do an acoustic version of the track "Winterblood" by the author of the Finnish fantasy book series that the song is based on, as well as a film company who were interested in using it for a future movie project based on the series. It was a great honor to share the release with the legendary singers of the band’s past!”...
The EP was mixed by Miitri Aaltonen (Mokoma, Stam1na etc.), mastered by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Stratovarius etc.), and it will be available digitally worldwide on February 19th, 2019.
