Indie Music, Labels & MP3

GR logoHow fast time passes… It’s almost impossible to catch up with it, no matter how hard we try. In the end, there are only the good memories that are left with… the ones that we try hard to create each & every day. The same goes for music more or less. How much music is released every day… one is impossible to keep up with it… but how much of that music is actually good and is worth our precious time – which flies so fast?

Certainly, I can’t bitch up for too long cuz I happen upon great albums and promising newcomers every month or so and I see the music things from a positive angle. I do know that all those music middle men have destroyed and they keep destroying music but what the hell… how long will they be around for? They will be long gone before they tear everything down. This is what I hope for anyway!

It’s true that even though there is not so much money in the music industry these days like in the 90s or the 80s; still there are huge amounts being spent for the wrong reasons which have nothing to do with the music itself.

The independent music movement is a trend which won’t keep going for much too long cuz some are already taking advantage of it and they make money by fooling as many bands as they can… yeah the same ol’ story again & again! And that’s wonderful huh?!

The fans have to reconsider the way they think, they listen and buy music… away from all these easy digital bullshit like iShits Spotif@cks etc… they need to embrace the actual thing again… the vinyl and the CD. There’s no other way. If you do love music then you must get the real thing. Just think how much money one spends each & every day on little – meaningless – things but they “despise” it when they have to pay for music and get a CD or a vinyl. Paying for those bloody MP3s won’t do anything; just a few pounds will reach the band’s account as most will go to those that have nothing to do with the band and the music itself. After all, a recent study showcased that the music industry won’t be saved by the money it gains from the digital stuff.

Let’s all support independent labels, bands & music now more than ever before. They are the driving force of today’s music and they will give the boost to our beloved music to go further and gain its old glory again…

PS3: This month’s editorial is dedicated to Tommy Ramone (R.I.P.), the original drummer of the legendary Ramones… a band which left its mark and will always be considered as one of the top punk-rock acts of all time… May He Rest In Peace…
