DragonForce - Reaching Into Infinity

Somehow, no-matter if I tried, I found it difficult to like DragonForce more than a bit, mainly due to their formulaic approach to songwriting that seems to prefer fast riffing over anything else… while most of their songs can have nice parts, they predictably end up going into a flurry of notes that almost always sounds nearly identical. Live they also sound even “thinner” than in the studio, which is not really much to go on, if you like things a bit heavier and meatier.

Zephaniah to release “Reforged” on February 12th 2016

“Reforged”, the sophomore outing from Indiana's Zephaniah, builds upon the power thrash foundation laid by their debut, 2008's “Stories From the Book of Metal”, to unleash a catchier and more dynamic intensity - made possible through the refined musicianship of the group's new, markedly more diverse lineup.

Masters Of Metal - From Worlds Beyond

Masters of Metal return, after an EP, without Rick Mythiasin but with Bernie Versailles assuming vocals. The band is obviously a side project of Agent Steel since they do share the line-up and style. I do believe that the reasons keeping them from using the name might have something to do with the rift with AS singer John Cyriis, but I’m not sure…

Encyrcle - Encyrcle

Encyrcle is a Danish quintet that has an old school, speed thrash power metal orientation, a decent enough production for the given style and decent enough chops to deliver the goods again within the “limits” of the genre’s predictable vicinity. They have simple but effective riffs and solos, which are easy on the ear, and their drummer must have 2 speeds he plays in, fast and hyper. You can imagine a style, between the early couple of Slayer albums, but with an even more heavy metal touch about it, a bit like that Onslaught album that featured Steve Grimmet on vocals, sans the vocals being that good.

Encyrcle to release self-titled debut album on June 2nd 2015

Danish speed metallers Encyrcle will release their self-titled debut album June 2nd, 2015 on Unspeakable Axe Records. Check out the track “Bloodbasker” below.

Encyrcle is the kind of band that could make a true believer of even the most jaded modern metalhead. Hard-charging speed metal is juiced up further with black metal-esque blast beats, while the guitar solos and vocals are derived entirely from the oldest of old schools: melodic, powerful, and way over the top.

Dragonforce to release “In the Line of Fire” DVD on July 10th 2015

Multi-national metal maestro’s DragonForce have announced the worldwide release of their debut DVD entitled “In the Line of Fire” on July 10th, 2015 on earMUSIC.

Shot in High Definition during the bands Ultimate Stage headline show at 2014’s Loud Park Festival in the Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo, the band used nine camera angles to capture the raw energy of their show and instrumental dexterity for which they are rightly celebrated worldwide.

The track listing below features a mixture of new songs from the latest album “Maximum Overload” mixed in with foot stomping anthems and lightning fast shred-fests from previous releases.
