Paul Gilbert - I Can Destroy

Apparently Paul Gilbert’s, 18th or so solo album, was released a few months back in Japan, but wasn’t even getting an announcement for the rest of the world. Until now.

Well, I’m not sure how shred freaks will take it… all the while, it seems to be a logical continuation of his past two albums, it’s even more bluesy and song oriented than before, obviously with the technique being consistently high, the song craft being first class and Gilbert’s sense of humor keen as ever.

The pretty funky and a little bizarre opener “Everybody Use Your Goddamn Turn Signals” sounds as if it has JK Simmons (?!) saying that phrase hahaha!

Crossing Rubicon

Hi Scotty… I’m glad we’re given the chance to talk about Crossing Rubicon.

S: I am really excited to be talking to you Grande-Rock, for two reasons: 1) I know you guys get really deep with your questions & 2) The Freddie Mercury you have next to your logo is actually tattooed on my arm! (i.n.: All those who respect & value the real essence of music should have Freddie in the hearts – apart from everywhere else!)

Do give us a brief bio of the band so far…

Crossing Rubicon - No Less Than Everything

At first, I thought that Crossing Rubicon was another modern rock/metal band due to the label that they’re under. As this modern shit ain’t my thing, I approached this release very skeptically till I listened to the first track “Tomorrow Never Comes”. I had to double check if I had put the right track on the player cuz this was nowhere near the thing that I had in mind!

Shivers Addiction - Choose Your Prison

Italian quintet, Shivers Addiction, releases “Choose Your Prison”, their sophomore album and third release overall, as an EP preceded it all. The band comprises of people like Gino Pecoraro, guitarist and vocalist of Nuclear Symphony, which are a thrash metal band that has been around for a while, as well as Marco Cantoni, who is the voice of Cyrax a prog metal band that recently released a rather nice album, whose taken over from the original female vocalist of the band. Their style is a bit weird as they combine symphonic elements, folk, prog tendencies and will even on occasion thrash it out a bit. It’s definitely a sound that’s a little more intricate, than that of your average Italian band.
