Unforgiving, merciless, beautiful, Buñuel is the sound of a difficult situation made worse by an unwillingness and an inability to play nice. Buñuel’s unpredictable amalgam of angular rhythms, drum salvos, blitzkrieging guitars and vocals that sound more like threats than promises is post-punk, proto-heavy and arty (as in avant-garde noise).

Big|Brave are pleased to announce European tour dates in April and May 2022 in support of their latest album, “Vital” out now on Southern Lord. Dates and details below. 

On their fifth album “Vital”, the core trio of Robin Wattie, Mathieu Ball and Tasy Hudson traverse minimalism and instinct, structure/freedom and meticulous timing, elements that have been the cornerstones of Big|Brave’s precise, rhythmical sound.

The Melvins announce their most ambitious project yet: “Five Legged Dog” (October 15th, 2021, Ipecac Recordings), a 36-song newly recorded, acoustic collection featuring a career-spanning collection of songs, from 1987’s “Gluey Porch Treatments” to 2017’s “A Walk With Love & Death”, the entire gamut of the legendary band’s catalogue is represented.

Minimalism and instinct, structure/freedom and meticulous timing form the cornerstones of Big|Brave’s precise, rhythmical sound.

Lyrically, the new album “Vital” explores the weight of race and gender, endurance and navigating other people’s behaviours, observation and protest. The band further commented “this album involves what it means navigating the outside world in a racialized body and what it does to the psyche as a whole while exploring individual worth within this reality”.
 

The Melvins have released a fourth track from their upcoming Melvins 1983 release, “Working With God” (Feb. 26th, Ipecac Recordings), premiering the song “The Great Good Place” this morning (listen to the track below).

The Melvins usher in 2021 with “Melvins TV: Volume 1, New Year’s Evil”, a 5-song livestreaming event also featuring interviews and extras, on December 31st at 12 noon pacific/3 pm eastern/8 pm gmt/7 am aedt.

Norwegian experimentalists Heave Blood & Die are proud to announce their new record, “Post People”, to be released on February 5th, 2021, via Fysisk Format.

A searing anti-capitalist critique, laying waste to non-justified authority, “Post People” will be released on recycled vinyl.

Dale Crover, named one of the greatest drummers of all time by Rolling Stone and dubbed the “Thunder King” by Modern Drummer, returns with his sophomore solo album, “Rat-A-Tat-Tat!” on January 15th, 2021, via Joyful Noise Recordings.

Along with news of the 12-song album’s forthcoming release, Dale and Joyful Noise are giving fans an early listen, releasing the single “Tougher” - check it out below.

tētēma, the bi-continental outfit featuring Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) and the Melbourne based, electro-acoustic artist Anthony Pateras, return with their sophomore album, the mind-bending “Necroscape” on April 3rd, 2020, via Ipecac Recordings.
