King Diamond to release new DVD/Blu-ray “Songs for the Dead Live” on January 25th 2019

On January 25th, 2019, King Diamond will release a new DVD/Blu-ray, “Songs for the Dead Live”, via Metal Blade Records.

There is only one King Diamond, and for more than thirty years the great Dane has been dropping classic albums and putting on shows fans remember for the rest of their lives. Perhaps the only downside to having such a formidable catalogue is that there are just too many great songs to fit into a single set.

High On Fire announces Winter 2019 US Tour

High On Fire have announced the Electric Messiah tour 2019 in continued support of their new LP released earlier this year.

These dates will be the first time the band has played live since the cancelation of their tour with Municipal Waste earlier this year due to the partial amputation of Matt Pike’s toe.

High On Fire released “Electric Messiah” last month to some serious critical acclaim. The A.V. Club stated that “The bar for metal album of the year has been raised” and they couldn't be more correct. “Electric Messiah” has landed on both Revolver Magazine and Loudwire’s top albums of 2018 lists.

Ghost live in Florida 2018

For those that don’t know Ghost, the band was formed by Tobias Forge back in 2006 in Linkoping Sweden. As the music they were creating was unlike anything that they had created before, the band decided to take on a more theatrical approach and the Forge adopted the persona of “Papa Emeritus” and dressed in Papal garb, while the rest of band donned black outfits and masks and would be known as Nameless Ghouls.

Whitechapel live in Florida 2018

Founded in 2007 in Utah, Chelsea Grin has undergone several line-up changes. At one point they even had three guitarists in the band. The current line up includes Tom Barber on vocals, David Flinn on bass, Pablo Viveros on drums, and Stephen Rutishauser on guitar. With five albums and two EP’s under their belt, they have proven themselves to be a force to reckon with in the deathcore community. Indeed, this was an excellent choice to bring on tour.

John 5 and The Creatures announce new album “Invasion” and Winter/Spring 2019 North American Tour

John 5 and The Creatures - comprised of world-renowned guitarist John 5, bassist Ian Ross and drummer Logan Miles Nix - are following up on this year's live album release, “It’s Alive!”, with a brand new full-length studio album coming in 2019!

Monte Pittman live in Florida 2018 along with Sebastian Bach

For those that aren’t familiar with Monte Pittman, he had been in several bands in his home state of Texas then moved to Los Angeles. His rise to fame began when Guy Ritchie then husband to Madonna, yes that Madonna of “Like a Virgin” fame, received a guitar from her as a gift and he went to Pittman for lessons. So, Guy Ritchie returned the favor, bought her a guitar and she too went to Monte Pittman for lessons. She was so impressed with his incredible playing that she made him the guitar player in her band.

Hammerfall live in Athens 2018

Going in the club just a shy few minutes after seven, Armored Dawn were already on stage, numerous as they are, a sextet blasting out some pretty standard shouty power metal that might have had the best of intentions, but didn’t quite seem to resonate with most of the fans that were there by this point. Their frontman Eduardo Parras was trying hard to turn the tides, but I am guessing that despite their best intentions and efforts, it all seemed to be a little in vain.

Fifth Angel - The Third Secret

Returning after heck 29 years, with an album and having only performed for the public for the second time in 2010 and without the original singer, Fifth Angel is a band that could and should have been big, since the talent that they had in their ranks was phenomenal… and they were on the branch of a multinational (ie Sony’s Epic label) yet mainly due to timing and nonmusical issues were held back.
