Unleash The Archers
Abyss
Napalm Records
2020
Let’s travel from the Apex, into the Abyss of outer space.
First of all, if you don’t know who Unleash The Archers are by now, you need to catch up. This amazing band of power metalling Canadians always bring the goods. With each album they step it up a notch, and “Abyss” is no exception.
“Abyss” continues the story that began on their previous album “Apex”, which chronicles the battles between the Matriarch and the Immortal.
Opening up with “Waking Dream” they set everything up to continue the story, and then seamlessly transition into the title track “Abyss”. Every time I listen to “Abyss” I get goosebumps, with the massive synth parts, and Brittney’s incredible vocal range that heads into octaves where her voice sounds like a choir of violins.
The entire album is solid, and incredibly epic.
“Return to Me” and “Soulbound” are some other incredible tracks. Every song is amazing and the story is great. Fans of Unleash The Archers are going to love the album; this will definitely bring in new fans to the band. Everyone needs to hear this album, and then go and check out the first half of the story on “Apex”.
Unleash The Archers is one of my personal favorite bands, and this album makes me love them even more. UTA step it up a notch with every release, and I cannot wait to see how they will top this album in the future.
I rate this album with one word... Perfect!
