Subliritum
Downfall
Battlegod Productions
2014
Returning, after 3 years, continuing the legacy of “A Touch of Death’, Subliritum are still offering that amalgam, of modern, melodic, technical, epic, brutal, thrash/death, black metal.
Certainly, Vegar “Vyl” Larsen’s participation (Headspin, Keep of Kalessin, ex-Aptorian Demon, ex-Goat the Head etc.) on drums is another point of interest for the fans of extreme metal sound. The same goes for the guest appearances by Baltak (Baltak, Buio Omega – also owner of Battlegod Productions), Vebjørn Moen and Stephen Carlson. The production, which is very good, has a late90s/early00s touch and ideally fits this kind of music.
Subliritum are presenting a rather solid extreme metal album, without shaking the rocks. Nothing really groundbreakin’ or that impressive, though. Fine stuff but it’s been done before in an even more refined way & more imaginatively if I may say. At the end of the day, “Downfall” will be a decent addition to the collection of those who fancy this music style…
