Two years after the debut “Cognitive”, Soen pick up from where they left off, but with a different music perspective this time. First of all, the bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Death, Sadus, Testament, Autopsy, Control Denied, Futures End etc.) is no longer part of the band and he was replaced by Stefan Stenberg.

Secondly and most importantly, Soen have become more cohesive as a band and they have evolved & matured both musically and spiritually. Their music is more lyrical, emotional, delicate & atmospheric, without having lost its progressive, heavy, groovy, alternative and experimental character at any point. Joel sings with excessive passion, Martin crates solid foundations with his drumming & percussion, Kim delivers nice guitar riffs & harmonies and Stefan binds the whole outcome with his strong bass-lines. The awesome production has been done by Kim Platbarzdis, while the album was mixed (once again) by the renowned David Bottrill (Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, King Crimson, etc.) and mastered by the eminent Adam Ayan (The Animals, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc.).

Soen are creating their own personal, odd music identity with every new release. They are not afraid to experiment or be more subtle and smooth in a time where brutality and extremeness rule the word. “Tellurian” is a distinctive lyrical, moody, sentimental, emotional and artistic album, which showcases a more idiosyncratic, gentle & eccentric side of Soen.

There’s no doubt that all those who are attracted to fine rhythms, atmospheric themes & lyrical melodies, which are full of emotions, will take great delight in “Tellurian”…
