Marilyn Manson
The Pale Emperor
Hell, etc.
2015
The music industry can make you an idol and very popular even if you’re totally worthless and hollow musically. Marilyn Manson is a case in point. He gained much popularity for an (literally) execution of the pop hit “Sweet Dreams”, for which he should have been sued by Eurythmics in truth to be told.
Anyhow, the story is a bit known from that point and over. Honestly, is MM a great singer? Hell no! Is he a fine songwriter? R u kidding?! What the hell does he have which makes him so successful and popular by numbers – cuz musically he is a full nothing. Yeah several tracks of this album have been used in movies and TV-series. No wondering why the Film Industry has taken the downside lately huh?!
“The Pale Emperor” doesn’t offer anything new at all. It’s bland, boring, uninspired, tedious, run of the mill & tasteless. It features those teenager-like hits that last a month or so and you may hear on movies or TV-series. I do not know if the album title, “The Pale Emperor”, refers to MM himself but if it does so, he should have named it “The Naught Emperor” or “King Nothing”… please someone give me back my 52 lost minutes!!!
