Klogr (apparently pronounced Kay-log-are) is an Italian alternative rock/metal band which was formed in 2011. Three years elapsed and these guys have just released their debut full length album entitled “Black Snow” & are getting ready for a 23-day European tour alongside Prong.

Not great, but not at all bad. That’s the best way I can describe “Black Snow”; meaning that if you have it playing in the background it won’t annoy you but, after a while, it won’t grab your attention either. Personally, I don’t I think that it’s the quality of the music that is the major problem here. This album tends to evade the listener’s attention because there comes a time when each track sounds a little too similar to the ones that had come before it. I don’t just mean that the musical compositions are similar. No, it’s something else as well. All the instruments seem to sound exactly the same way throughout the whole recording. No diversity of sound what so ever. It’s like these guys had faulty amps and equipment and once they got them playing they refused to touch them for fear of something going wrong. Let me be clear, I’m not talking about the sound production, which is more than fine. To be honest, I think it is actually pretty tight.

Musically, I think Klogr are pretty decent, but at the same time I don’t think they have something new to contribute to the genre. The best thing anyone can expect concerning this album is for people to have one of its tracks featured in a compilation CD, or an ad or a soundtrack. I would suggest one of the following: “Zero Tolerance”, “Refuge”, “Heart Breathing”, “Guilty and Proud” or “Room to Doubt”. Apart from that I don’t see anything else Klogr can hope for out of “Black Snow”.
