Greenleaf
Rise Above the Meadow
Napalm Records
2016
Swedish stoner rockers Greenleaf share a good number of members with Dozer and a few other higher profile Stoner bands. After releasing a number of albums on specialty labels they now release a new album “Rise Above the Meadow” later this month via Napalm Records.
Well despite having a few different chaps behind the mic the band’s character has hardly changed that much. They do have a psych character, but are quite energetic for a band of the given genre and quite riffy. The vocals are fuzzy, but playful and rather melodic and if you like the Sabbathian fuzzed up stuff, and how Clutch, Sleep, and Queens Of The Stone Age sound… on occasion this will not disappoint you as there’s hardly a bad song in sight. Even if I’m not an ardent follower of the scene, I found this album to be quite to my liking…
