Fleesh
What I Found
Independent Release
2017
Fleesh is a music project that is based in Brazil and consists of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter & producer Celo Oliveira and vocalist Gabby Vessoni. They were formed in 2013 and in 2015 they released their debut album “My Real Life”. Now, they are back with their sophomore release entitled “What I Found”.
The duo is influenced by the ambient, more atmospheric parts of prog acts like Marillion, Pink Floyd, Genesis and so on. They have adopted the more simplistic songwriting form of the aforementioned acts and they have embellished it with emotional, atmospheric & ethereal parts. Of course, the more distinct thing in their music is Gabby’s wonderful voice, which really makes a great impression from the very first listening. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Celo Oliveira at Kolera Home Studio and it has a fairly sweet, clean & smooth sound.
The tracks have a rather similar pace in general and they do not stray from the atmospheric, calm & sensitive music pattern of the band’s music. “If I”, along with “What I Found”, are probably the catchiest tracks here but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any other tracks that will please you while listening to the album. For instance, the final “Blood on the Street” is a remarkable ambient track with its few prog touches and the amazing vocals by Gabby above all. I do not know how much time it will take the fans of the genre and the music labels to find out about this music project but it won’t take long before they hear about the lovely singer Gabby with this wonderful voice…
