Extrema is band that’s been a long time in the European thrash metal… we’re talking for more than 25 years! Surely, one cannot expect anything new or groundbreaking from them as they do what they do for so many years and they are still around making music and touring.

“The Seed of Foolishness” finds the band thrashing around by adding various groovy, modern & heavy elements on their sound. I do think this contemporary sound approach can introduce the band to the newer fans that prefer their heavy-thrash music a bit more “modern” in our time. I’ll be damn but “Bones” sounds too “grunge/alternative” to my ears! The same goes for “A Moment of Truth” that’s like a 90s alternative rockin’ tune. Lyrically, this album is inspired by several events that led Europe (and not only) to economic crisis, providing therapy for all the anger and frustration resulting from it. The sound is sharp & heavy.

Extrema’s newest work is fine by all means but it lacks catchiness. Moreover the songs are not somewhat memorable. You see besides all this aggression and heaviness there has to be something more than that and Extrema didn’t quite prosper on this part. I really do not get why they choose to put those 2 aforementioned totally different songs on the album. They have mixed things up a tad! The antagonism in our time is fairly harsh for all the bands and the labels… but most of the times it needs something more than the obvious in order to make it…
