You want a one-way ticket straight to the 70’s hard rock sound? Then “Wander Thirst” is the album for you. Influenced by artists like Deep Purple, Bad Company, Thin Lizzy, Boston, Foghat and Ted Nugent, Double Treat offers 11 pure hard and blues rock songs with a touch of Black Sabbath mentality.

“Wander Thirst” has such a rich sound that it’s really hard to believe that Double Treat are just two guys, Chris Kissadjekian (who plays bass and sings) and Sotiris Lagonikas (who plays everything else). But those two are not a couple of amateurs, both of them have been writing their own chapters within the Greek rock scene for decades now. And that experience is evident throughout the whole recording; in other words, you just know that you are listening to a couple of professional musicians who know exactly what they are doing. Each and every one of the tracks are a mixture of heavy blues rock guitars on top of a steady and groovy rhythm section and emotional vocals.

I think that the timing of the release could not have been better, because “Wander Thirst” has that hard and at the same time care-free vibe which makes it ideal for long days at the beach and even longer road trips with your friends and the hot sun above you. After all, I don’t think that Double Treat were aiming to make an album which would change the musical history. I think they were trying to produce, a fun heavy blues record for people to enjoy.
