Devotion is an Italian band allegedly with an EP and some 3 albums that has been going on for about ten years, without really making any big mark in the world scene. Their press release feels that because they signed to a new label that must have gone near bankrupt a couple of times in the past, there are about to go global with their brand of atmospheric rock/metal… i.e. core-influenced rock metal-hybrid with a dopey atmosphere and generic vocals, but surprisingly a quite decent production for the style.
If you like stuff like The Deftones, it might be your cup of tea, although I highly doubt that these “mushroom” bands can really make it, anyhow, unless they have a huge label shoving them down the throats of people. Since I’m not in this constant naggin/angry state that some teenagers might be going through, this nasal grungy new rock really is as bad as it could be for me.
