Carbid! Is a four-piece band from Brunswick. Although they’ve been playing for years, it was not until now that they released their debut album on their own. The band is playing traditional metal rather influenced by Iron Maiden, Accept, Judas Priest, Saxon, Motorhead, Metallica among others.

Their musical approach is far too 80s and so is the production which has the rawness that productions used to have back in the 80s. The songwriting is full of heavy metal clichés and you ain’t gonna hear anything new here except for some metal maniacs that truly love this kind of music and play it with passion.

The album contains 13 songs, 5 of which are covers. I think that including 5 covers of known metal/rock songs in your debut release is too much. No one cares to hear a bunch of cover tunes from a newcomer. I can’t see what the point in that is. Probably, they wanted to do so cuz’ they used to be a cover band for many years in the past. So be it. They’ve got a lot of ground to cover… but firstly they must take better care of their production. “Breaking Walls” is one of those albums that we used to find/hear in the underground scene back in the day.
