Well, three years after their homonymous debut album, Adrenaline Rush are back with their sophomore release. I expected them to have released a new album earlier; then again, 3 years ain’t a very long period.

Well, the band, fronted by the hot blondie Tåve Wanning (formerly part of the Teen-Pop duo Peaches), has given a kinda more “modern” sound to their music, without losing their 80s/90s rock, pop-rock & hard rock elements. This time Tåve mainly collaborated with Fredrik Folkare (Firespawn, Unleashed) on the songwriting part. Erik Martensson (Eclipse) only co-wrote a track and mastered the album. The production is full and quite loud… maybe too loud (due to the mastering) than it should have been, but each to their own.

Tåve is not a bad singer, without being anything special, but that has already taken a toll on the band. Her voice fits pop music better and she sounds a little too “Barbie” for rock/hard rock music. Most fans have already expressed their discontent over Tåve’s voice and I can’t totally blame them for that. Some may find her voice closer to their taste, so they’ll be able to enjoy this album more. Nonetheless, the tracks and the hooks are not that strong – the debut is a bit better, I think – and that’s another aspect that makes the listening of this album not that enjoyable. I do think they can do better than that, but only time can tell.
