ROAR! Rock of Angels Records proudly announces its collaboration with Greek legendary heavy metal pioneer Sarissa, for the release of their long awaited, new studio album “Nemesis”, which will be released on February 26th, 2016. “Nemesis” is the band’s new release 12 years after the release of “Masters of Sins”.
The new album “Nemesis” finds the band in its best shape yet. With the original members Jimmy Selalmazidis taking over both guitar and bass recordings and George Simeonidis on vocals of this long-awaited record, Sarissa seem to be returning in action, more powerful than ever, focusing on their noteworthy song-writing rather than their high-level musicianship.
“Nemesis” is full of influences, so distinct from each other, that can even make the band be categorized as a progressive heavy metal act. The 80’s classic heavy metal mood of Accept and early Judas Priest is ever present, and one can say by noticing the memorable guitar riffs that are fuelled by a furious and powerful Jag-Panzer-influenced, rhythm section and sometimes enhanced by vocal lines and harmonies that bring in mind modern heavy metal acts, such as Dream Evil and Primal Fear. The bass-focused production gives an overall techno-thrash metal feeling at times, that sounds (production-wise) like Megadeth jamming over Sanctuary songs. The great high-pitched vocals of George Simeonidis seem to be influenced by the Dio, Rob Halford and Harry Conklin legacy, giving the extra touch needed for a historical heavy metal album. Sarissa are back for good and “Nemesis” is the living proof.
“Nemesis” was recorded & produced by Jimmy Selalmazidis at his personal studio. The drums were recorded by Fotis Demertzis at Mix Studio and the vocals were recorded by Nik Logiotatidis at Underground Studio.
The album’s cover artwork was designed by Kostas Tsiakos.
