He's got the voice, he has the songs and he is praised for his “extreme talent”. Luke Elliot is a raw rock n' roll talent a la Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, and Tom Waits. A talent that shook the ground of his viewers and listeners once he entered the Norwegian music scene about a year ago.
With his origin from New Jersey, he came down to Norway like a micrometeorite - a minuscule rock with rustic edges and a glaze of mercury that jumped quickly up on the pedestal. Luke Elliot didn't take long to become warm in Norway and was taken in and up by the streaming service Tidal as a “Tidal Rising” artist. So far he's been playing live on many of Norway's biggest stages like Oslo Spektrum and Norwegian wood, and with his astonishingly captivating character he reaps great reviews from all sides. The same goes for his debut album “Dressed for the Occasion”, that he presented a song from on the popular Norwegian TV program Lindmo a late Saturday evening of 2015 fall. He also did this in a similar fashion on God Morgen Norge an early morning in December 2015.
“Dressed for the Occasion” is a raw and fresh album with one of America's great producers, John Agnello - who has collaborated with artists like Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile, Dinosaur Jr., The War on Drugs, Madrugada and Patti Smith, to name a few. Just over new years, he ventures out on a tour in Norway.
