Devious was recently guested at the As Loud As studio in Herveld (NL), to do a one-take recording session for Walk in – Play – Walk out (WIPWO). This online video concept was developed by producer/sound engineer Sven Lens to create extra exposure for talented bands and artists.
The execution is raw and simple; every band/artist walks into the studio, plays a set of 15 minutes and walks out again. Just play, basically. Giving everything you’ve got. The live sessions are recorded in high quality video & audio and published on the WIPWO website.
After sessions with i.a. Tenement Kids, SEEKA and Moon Baker, Devious was up next.
Studio engineer Sven Lens: “I invite bands to WIPWO who I think are great and deserve more attention, despite the musical genre. Devious caught my attention with the professionalism and sound they displaye on their latest album “Wolfhagen”. This, and the fact that metal has always been appealing to me, swiftly resulted in an appointment set for a session. The recordings, which you can now experience, have no copy/pasting or overdubbing, what proves that Devious is a band that’s capable to lay down a really tight sound and show, both live and in the studio”.
You can watch and listen to the session below.
In October this year Devious launched the digital release of their newest effort “Wolfhagen” on Bandcamp.
The 5 new songs and 2 bonus tracks are available for high-quality download, for free or against any price.
The last few copies of the limited edition, hand numbered metal case can be ordered there as well (although not for free).
Devious’ next live show will be at Braindead Fest in De Buze, Steenwijk (NL) on December 22.
